Peggy's PR Story Hi, I'm Peggy. I am 44 years old and live in southern Iowa. I have be dealing with PR for over three years and diagnosed for just over a year. I am married to a wonderful guy for 25 years and have three kids. My adventure started with a diagnosis of upper GI problems, then pneumonia, then lupus before finally finding a rheumy who knew about PR. I am very excited about this new site and sharing information with everyone! I have a couple pictures to share with you all. Keep in mind that I am not real good at pics even when my hands are cooperating! The one is of my right thumb. It became so swollen that I couldn't even bend it. Terribly painful and eventually turned a bit black and blue from lack of sufficient blood flow. The other picture is of my left hand. It swelled like a balloon at the same time as my thumb. Oddly when the back of my hand swells like this, there is no pain and it doesn't really bother me much. Just makes me look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. If I should get some better pics later I will send them on. Pic 1. Right Thumb Pic 2. Left Hand New pics added. You can see very swollen knuckles in this photo. Elbow rash below. Also rash on thigh.
